Freedom Festival & Father's Day

In our hometown they have the Greenwood Freedom Festival. The day starts with a parade and then a little street fair and ends with great junk food and fireworks in the park! We love going, it's a tradition I guess you could say. So Lee & I made sure to take the kids to the events. Since Lee hadn't seen Ethan on Father's Day this was our "Father's Day" too. It was meant to spend the entire day as a family doing things together, one of our favorite things to do! We started at the parade, took Lee to lunch at one of his favorite spots in Indy (Kabuto's Japanese Steakhouse), swimming at the Franklin pool, and the picnicing and fireworks in the park! We had a great day together as a family and wouldn't trade these memories for the world!
This is actually on Father's Day at our house before Lee's parents came back over...

The kids waiting for the parade to start

Emalie waving her flag proudly...love the shades! (Special thanks to Nana for the adorable summer/4th of July dress!)

This is Lucas' first Freedom Festival Parade...he thoroughly enjoyed it...you can't see it but his onesie shirt says "Baby's 1st 4th" (I'll try to get a better pic next weekend)

Such a good big brother - he held Ema when the firetrucks scared her

This is a GREAT shot of the kids! Aren't they cute?!

Later: At the fireworks they had the firetrucks set up so the kids could see and sit in them...

Emalie sat in them, but as you can tell she wasn't sure about it.

Still not sure of it Emalie sat there because Ethan told her it was ok...

The kids waiting (patiently) for the fireworks to start.
