A visit to the orchard

There is a place south of us here in Wisconsin called the Apple Holler that has a homemade Sunday breakfast buffet that Lee has been wanting to try. So we decided that we would go try it since it was a nice Fall weekend. I looked at their website and decided we would let the kids pick apples from the orchard, since I've never picked apples from an actual apple tree I thought the kids would love it. We also saw that they had punkin's so we would just do it all that day. (Or so we thought) The breakfast was a little pricey, but really good! When we headed out to the festival part of the orchard we found out to pick apples it would cost $30, to take the wagon ride to the punkin patch it would cost us $20, and then the punkins were $3 per pound. So we decided we weren't really in the mood to spend close to $100 on a trip to the punkin patch. So the kids visited the petting farm area and saw the beehives and got to get an apple from the crates of already picked apples. (Luckily we found out on Monday that Lee has to go to Indy this coming Friday for a meeting so we are going to go to our old stomping grounds to the punkin patch there where we can get punkins, apples, and a wagon ride for much less than $100! So look for those pictures next week!
Ethan & Ema at breakfast

These things are so goofy!

Checking out the beehives

Ema getting ready to feed the goats...

Once she saw Ethan doing it Emalie decided against it!

They enjoyed Ethan's snack though

Emalie was still excited she got to pick her own apple out...it didn't last in the car 5 minutes...good thing I rinsed it off before we left!

Very Cute! And yes, that kind of stuff is expensive up there. It's much better to just enjoy the fall colors at the local park, and maybe take a picnic. We are excited for you to come down. Have a good trip and see you when you get home!
