Easter was a little different this year. Ethan was in Indiana and we were here by ourselves. It didn't feel like Easter but we tried the best we could to make everything the same, although it didn't at all feel that way! We started the day off in church remembering what Easter really means and being thankful for the things the Lord has done and continues to do for us. Then I made my first Easter (holiday) dinner without mom around. We had ham, chinease cole slaw, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, and deviled eggs. We did have our friends from NC over too, since they are in the same situation that we are, with no family around. We were SO THANKFUL that Peter got to come along too, he is home on leave for a short while before returning to Iraq to continue fighting for our freedom's. We made sure to tell him how thankful we are for him and the people he works with. It was good to spend the day with friends that are as close as family, the kids enjoyed it too!

Here Emalie & I are coloring our egg's for the deviled egg's,
mom always does this so not just the outside are colored...
it makes the egg's look very festive!
Erin's mom sent them (by tradition) a chocolate egg filled with truffle-like candies.
The egg was HUGE, so we sat it in front of Lucas to show exactly how big it is!
He like the loud paper ... we all liked the chocolate. Thanks Grandma Cooney!
