It didn't snow!!!!!

We made our first trip to Wisconsin to visit DJ, Ammie, & Isaak and it didn't snow! No, they were not predicting snow...but I am constantly giving them a hard time about how much it snows there! So it was only fitting to name this entry! We went up on a Friday evening...it didn't take nearly as long to get there as we thought it would. The kids were so good, they slept all the way there. When we got up Saturday morning Isaak was soooo happy to see us! We spent the day with our personal tour guides seeing sights around Mequon (where they live). They took us up to Port Washington to see the marina and Light House. They showed us "their" beach but it didn't look like the beaches we were used to. Then they took us to Cedarburg where John McCain and Sarah Palin had just visited the day before, which we thought was really cool! We looked at some shops, a winery (where we tasted some yummo wine), and then they took us to Sal's, an incredible Pizzaria! While Isaak took a nap I took thekids swimming in DJ & Ammie's community pool. We went to a brewery for dinner that DJ & Ammie hadn't even been to. It was great! DJ & Lee got the House Sampler and tried every beer they brew....good thing Ammie & I could drive home!!! HA! We even got to try Cheese Kurds! Good ol' Wisconsin Cheese!!! Then we went back to Cedarburg to eat ice cream at a great place (McCain & Palin ate ice cream there just the day before!). On Sunday, before we left, they took us to a couple malls to seek out some Wisconsin garb!

Then a church steeple in the distance. It's an old Catholic Church,

that kind of looks over the mariner and the boats.

Kind of a nice thing to see as you come back in from being on the lake.

At the marina they had this area where you can walk out on the rocks.

It was really neat. The little one's had to be carried...

so we only took them about half way.

But Ethan couldn't stand it so DJ took him all the way out to the end.

We had such a great time and are already planning our next trip! We miss Aunt Ammie & Uncle DJ. I know we'll see them with the holiday's coming up but it's not the same! We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful, close family.
